Lenovo has rolled out latest Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for Vibe P1, A7000/A7000 plus and few other models.
Now you can use Finger print App lock feature on your Vibe P1 and other mobiles having fingerprint sensor for unlocking your system or user installed apps like Gmail, Facebook, WhatsApp, File Manager, Image Gallery, Contacts and Messages.
This post will help you enabling Fingerprint unlock in Lenovo Vibe P1 with Marshmallow 6.0.1. The Fingerprint app unlocking feature was not available earlier in the older Lollipop version 5.0.1 and 5.1.1.
How to unlock apps with fingerprint sensor on android Marshmallow 6.0.1 devices ?
You can unlock your device as in earlier versions with no option for App unlocking. To enable the Fingerprint App Unlock in Marshmallow you have to install any third party app like Clean master Security (Antivirus & Applock). Once you install the app you can enable app unlock feature and can set the same fingerprint sample for unlocking the device to unlock the selected apps you have chosen to protect from others to open. We have tested this on Vibe P1a42 and is working fine. The same method can be applicable on HTC, Micromax, Samsung, MI, Coolpad, Honor Holly and other company mobiles which are having Fingerprint sensor and are running on Marshmallow 6.0 or 6.0.1 Android OS.
My fingerprint scanner is not working after the marshmallow update. When I try to register my fingerprint it shows enrollment not complete.Tried factory resetting but still it does not work.
Are you getting any vibration when you trying to enroll the fingerprint? If yes then there is no issue with the sensor, it may be a problem with the OS installed or your sample is not getting scanned properly. Try with other person like your friend or a family member. If the problem persists kindly visit the nearest service center.

Are you using any third party app? It may be causing the problem. Configure your setting properly.
My finger print sensor is not working, tried to register my fingerprint it shows enrollment not complete and I am using marshmallow update.. and before the update also i was not able to do it. Kindly suggest

When I touch in that sensor it turn on screen and shows pattern to unlock device.
Except Fingerprint no issue so far.
This happens when you use your device after a restart or power on. Due to security reasons fingerprint is disable on first power on or a restart. Next time it should be working fine.
My fingerprint sensor is stopped working. I tried to reset it many times but its still not working. I even updated my phone into marshmallow. But still nothing. So pls help
There may be issue with your sensor. Try reaching the nearest service center.
NOTE: If you use the fingerprint sensor with wet hands/fingers there is more chance of the sensor to stop working. So it is recommended not to use any electronic device in water or in wet hands.
Fingerprint not working after update to marshmallow. It showing following message “Fingerprint enrollment didn’t work. Try again or use a different finger.” I have tried to factory reset many times.
Please ask your friend to check to register his fingerprint, during registration give the sample properly as per the instructions on the screen. otherwise your enrollment wont be successful. If he also not able to do it, try to call the customer care 1800-3000-7678 (India tollfree)

After marshmallow update fingerprint screen unlock not working.
When enter the optio to register my fingerprint i instantly get the same: “Fingerprint enrollment didn’t work. Try again or use a different finger”
Checked in Engineer Mode –> Maunal Test –> FpSensor Auto Test. The last diagnostic: Test failed.
After i do a service hard reset, i can use it till i register my fingerprints. After few minutes, i get the issue again.
After marshmallow update finger print scanner works for me , but it cause a vibration while unlocking the phone . How can I switch off this . Kindly help

Only option is that turn on the Battery Power Saver, which will disable Haptic effect along with other features like notifications also turned off
Hi. My lenovo vibe P1unclocks with fingerprint only when there is some app open and I lock mobile by power button.
If I turn off screen when I am on homescreen, fingerprint will not unlock the device and it is asking me to put the pattern.
It was fine in lollipop but this issue is after marshmallow update. Any suggestion or solution?

My Lenovo P1 Turbo fingerprint is not working, if I locked the screen using Toggle Power before. But if I locked by turn down the screen, the fingerprint is working.
