Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. releases new update to the Kotak 811 Mobile banking app which allows Scan & Pay using Fingerprint authentication on transactions upto ₹ 2000/- without the need of MPIN.
Note: For payments above ₹ 2000/- you need to provide the 6-digit MPIN for the authentication.
If you already enrolled for the fingerprint authentication, you can just upgrade the Kotak 811 app to the latest version 4.4.4 from the Google Play Store.
In case if you are not enrolled yet for the fingerprint authentication you can just enable this option by opening the app after the update. You will be prompted to Enable Fingerprint authentication only if you have a smartphone with fingerprint censor and you must have your fingerprint data saved/captured in that smartphone. The app will use the saved data from the device for the authenticating the transactions.
Kotak is one the private sector bank which has successfully enabled the fingerprint authentication for the mobile banking. The app earlier only allowed to provide the basic details with the fingerprint authentication and customer needs to provide the MPIN to carry out the transfers and other banking options. Now you no need to provide the MPIN for transactions below 2K.
